Transport
Once your kitchen is produced, it has to be delivered. This brings us to the second largest item in our carbon footprint. To reduce this too, we have decided on a number of measures. Some of them still need time, such as the conversion of our vehicle fleet to hydrogen - others have already been successfully implemented. These include, for example, the use of long trailers or optimised route planning.
Trailer transport by rail
Our solution: make real headway with the climate using a hybrid concept.
About one third of our CO2 emissions are generated by our vehicle fleet. Transport by rail, as opposed to by truck, causes much lower CO2 emissions. However, this solution is only suitable where longer distances have to be covered.
Our sustainable hybrid concept: We put our trailers on the railway wagons. This way we kill two birds with one stone! On the one hand, less CO2 emissions and, on the other hand, the flexibility to ensure delivery to the destination without additional reloading.
Long trailers and Giga-Liner in the fleet
Our way: With more storage space to more climate protection.
To ensure that your new kitchen arrives at your home in immaculate condition requires real expertise. For example, during the loading and unloading processes - everything must be positioned in the right place and nothing must be damaged. For the journey from our factory to your kitchen retailer, we therefore entrust your kitchen only to ourselves.
This added value for you remains important to us, even if it means a higher CO2 footprint for us as a company. We are currently optimising this footprint with the use of long trailers and Giga-Liners until we convert our fleet to hydrogen drive in the long term.
Optimised route planning
Our route: we will soon save unnecessary kilometres, diesel and CO2.
Just as with the further development of our kitchens, we also want to think more holistically in other areas - and preferably always on several levels. In addition to the above-mentioned measures (long trailers and hybrid transport), we have identified another savings potential for us in this way: optimised route planning.
Here, we are working together with a service provider on a future-oriented solution that should soon help our route planners to always find the most efficient or economical route.
