Raw materials

Our kitchens are living spaces. That's why it's a matter of course for us to always keep an eye on the environment as the living space for all of us. And that starts right “up front” in the process. Because what furniture is made of has a significant influence on its environmental balance.

Sustainable forestry

Our way: For every tree that is removed, a new tree is replanted.
Even today, wood is still the most valuable and most important material in the furniture industry - and thus also for our kitchens. That is why we go to great lengths to handle this wonderful, renewable resource with great care: For example, the finished panels of our cabinets have a high proportion of recycled wood and the wood waste produced during production is used for climate-neutral heating.
The proportion of new wood we use is covered exclusively by suppliers who provide us with wood from sustainable forestry that complies with the PEFC standard (“Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes”). This is a big step towards being able to produce our kitchens in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Recycled wood

Our principle: Give wood a second and third chance - for the climate.
As true miracles of nature, trees filter the air of fine dust and produce the oxygen that humans and animals need to live. During this process, they extract the CO2 from the air, which they then bind in their wood. So the longer the harvested wood is used, the better this is for our climate. Because if the wood is burnt or rots, the bound CO2 is released back into the atmosphere.
With so-called cascade use, the useful life of wood can be extended through various uses. In the first phase of its life, for example, a log could be processed into a solid wood tabletop. If the table is later recycled, the wood from the tabletop can then be chipped and used in a second product. In a third stage of life, the wood could then be used to generate energy.
Most of the chips are processed in the chipboard industry itself, but we also use about 40 % recycled wood for our chipboard material. This use of waste wood conserves resources and the environment - with the same product quality as would be the case if 100 % new wood were used.

Recycled plastic

Our promise: Always give 100 % - especially with the plinth feet!
We also strive to always find and use the most ecological solution possible for secondary materials. That's why we use recycled materials as often as we can. But what does that mean exactly?
You've probably asked yourself what happens to your yoghurt pot after it's been recycled. The answer is simple: it comes back to you! Namely as a base for your kitchen. Because we make these from a plastic granulate that consists of 100 % recycled plastic products such as rubbish bags or food packaging.
